Computers in our Life.

Computers have become indispensable in our lives. Since they were invented in 1936, they have revolutionized they way millions of people work, study, and carry out research or business transactions. Nowadays, we can't imagine life without computers. The invention of computers changed our existence on Earth in many ways.
First at all, computers are very helpful in medicine and are increasingly being used in that part of our life because the advances in computer technology have made them user friendly and cheap.
Second, there is a widespread impact of computers in education. Educational institutions use them for various purpose example; they perform administrative functions such as bookkeeping or data recording.
Finally, computers are revolutionizing the banking and finance system. They have replaced paper for nearly all accounting. I can't imagine life without computers on the stock exchange.
In my point of view, invented computers bring only positive influence in our lives and everyone probably agrees that the future of modern society depends greatly on computerization.

Air Pollution

No element of the natural world is more essential to life than air, and no environmental task more critical than keeping it clean.The air around us is getting more and more polluted.The major sources of air pollution are ;
  • trandportation engines,
  • power and heat generation,
  • industrial proceses,
  • burning of solid waste (plastic, glasses, paper, textiles, etc,
  • natural sources like volcanos

Worldwide air pollution is responsible for large numbers of deaths and cases of respiratory dease. Air pollution also damage the environmental and property: trees, lakes, animals have been harmed byh air pollution. Air pollution has thinned the protective ozon layer above the Earth. Air pollution can damage monuments, status and other buildings. The most immediate method of improving air quality would be the use of bioethanolfuel, biodisel, solar energy, and hybrid vehicle technologies reduce the amount of greenhouse gases that we put into the atmosphere.

  • 30 ml country
  • 30 ml midair
  • 30 ml lemon juice
  • 2 kiwi fruit, peeled and chopped

Frost the rim of goblet (type of glass) with salt. Then place the Tequila, Cointreau, Midori, lemon juice and kiwi fruit blender; blend well. Pour into the goblet and enjoy:)

Mixed relationship,

Relationship of people with differences like nationality, religions, cultures and races is nothing wrong, althought it could make conflicts between couples. First at all, people can see the world from different perspective. They get to know different cultures what help them to better understand world. It help people to not discriminate others. Second, children growing up with parents in that kind of relationship are more mature than other children, because they have wilder view of the world. Next, people are smarter and more opened . They get to know the language of the culture their parents is speaking and have a chance of melting people. Sometimes it makes conflict because children might be confuse which culture should they choose if their parents would stay in their different habits. On my point of view, mixed rekationshios of people with such differences such as nationality, religion, culture and race is nothing wrong and it depends on partner's characters if their relationship will work or not. What do you think ???

Books- our friends.

For centuries books have represented and reflected human culture and constituted an integral part of human life. Book are indispensable in everyone's life. They broaden the mind and they are an important source of information and knowledge about the world. They perform a useful service to people, teaching and entertainig them. Furtermore, they communicate the feelings, experiences and provide important evidence of human thought. They do not only inform but also protect people from boredom. Whenever we are ill or when we have to spend long hours on a train or bus, books seem to be irreplaceable. Sometimes during lonely evenings when there is nobody to talk to, books become a partner of conversation. There are many kinds of book and everyone can find something interesting for them. Books have served us for centuries and they have never let us down.

Happiness

Happines is the most beautiful of all feelings. Scientists claim that there are four types of happines: ecstasy, euphoria, solicitude and excitement. We need to experience all these feelings at alst from time to time to be really happy. It is common belived that happy people live longer. If so, we should always try to be in a good mood and look on the bright side of everyhing. Despite of ours daily difficulities and busy life. Sometimes people regard themselves as unhappy only because they cannot be enthusiastic about small things. I think that we should not wait for some unusual events which may never happend but try to enjoy our daily life.

At the weekend.

Saturday is my favorite day. I am very busy during the week and I do not have to much free time, because of job, school and private life. Therefore, when the weekends comes I really like to relax and have a good time. I usually wake up around -9 .00 A.M , check my e-mails and news form my native country, drink a cup of coffee and do some housework. After that I go to shopping. Around 2 o'clock I start to cook something for dinner. I like to cook especially I use a lot the recipes from my native country. Sometimes I invite my friends for dinner. I really like to walk , so I walking as much as I can. I like having an evening out on Saturday . When I come back at home I like to read magazines or books. Sometimes I do crossword puzzles. Sunday it is time to get ready for Monday and next whole week. Sunday I usually spend in front of computer because of my on-line classes. I'm so happy that Saturday and Sunday is my day off work.

North Star page 147, 2nd question.

Margaret Rudland said that children need to experience that "rough and tumble"of peer associations. In my point of view, she has a right. Children can't be isolated at home form classmates. Time at school is the best time to learn how to cooporate with others, how to build relationship, how to struggle with many sytuations in human life. School is the best place to learn how to be the best, how to peer of others, how to struggle with unpolite people. At school children can learn many things from each other about social problems. They learn there how to be independent and what its mean to be independent. They learn there how important in our life is to have own point of view and how to struggle with many bed situations in our daily life. I absolutely agree with Margaret that children need this all experiences.

"Into the Wild" by Jon Krakauer

Book which I choose to read on R/W class is "Into the Wild" by Jon Krakauer. In this book Krakower describe a true story a young man named Chris McCandles who decided to give $25,000 to charity, abandoned his car and most of his possessions, burned all the cash in his wallet, and invented a new life for himself. He went into the wild world of Alaska. He didn't have any preparation, equipment, even food and good boots. He didn't say good bye nobody. WHY?
Ok. This is enough for today because I have to read next pages of book . I'm just wondering what pushed him to do this, why he choose this hard way to live.

What to write???
I don't have an idea what to write today, so maybe I just describe my room.
My room is my favorite place on the world, in which I love the appearance, smell and feel. I spend a lot of time in there, so it is important for me to feel comfortable in it. It always makes me feel happy because the colors are all bright and cheer me up in some strange way. Actually, it's not such a big room, but I love it anyway. The walls in my room are bright green with white baseboards. On the right side is a cozy bright pink bed with many colorful pillows. Next to the bed are shelves with many books, pictures in colored frames, and relics of the past. My shelves hold many candles and CD's and opposite the doors I have one big window. This window doesn't have shades, so the sun shines brightly trought my room every single day. Next to the window is my messy desk where I have all my papers and bills. There is pleace for my laptop which I use every day the desk stands white comfortable chair. My most favorite thing in my room is the big picture of roses that is having up on my wall above my bed. I love to have fresh flowers on my desk. Every season my room has different smell form flowers that I have in my vase on my desk. The most important thing about my room is I feel very comfy and safe.Whenever I come back from school or work and I feel exhausted, I like to turn on my CD player. I'm a person that's likes to feel free, which is how I feel in my room. in there I feel safe, too, which is important for me. No one can disturb my peace and harmony there. My room is the pleace where I love to spend time and do anything I want. This is my little Eden :)

National Cultures

Every country has own history and traditions which affect its national culture. There are huge differences in the habits, rituals, languages, religions of the different people all over the world. Various could be eating patterns; for example people think that Polish people love sausage and Russians drinks a lot of alcohol, Italians eat pizza, and Americans enjoy McDonald's, yet French eat just frogs and snails. Also not the same could be the people's attitudes as a result of national traditions or various religions. For instance people belief that French are romantic and best kissers, Italians are described as very open, noisy and handsome people, while British are cold and reserved, Japanese are said to be workaholic, and Polish are very religious and hospitable. The several of human cultures species vary in many ways, from differences of religion to eating habits.
In my opinion, human attitudes are results of tradition and culture at particular nations. Each country has its good and bad features and not aleays the stereotypes match the reality. I think that religion has fundamental part in people lives. The value of religion gives people a moral code to live by, a higher strength to guide them when overwhelmed, it gives them hope, and puts order and control in their societies.

"Old man and the Sea" by Ernest Hemingway

"The Old Man and the Sea" is one of Hemingway's best works of literature. The story takes place in the small village, Havana, Cuba, in late 1940s and is written in realistic tone. The protagonist of the book is an old fisherman,Santiago, which was down on his luck, but his strength of mind helps him with hooking the largest marlin in the water. The other character of the book is Manolin. This young boy is Sanitago's best and only friend. The old man, Santiago, has not caught any fish for eighty-four days and people start to talk about his bad luck. Man survives only thanks to Manolin's help. He steals or begs for money to buy food and other supplies for Santiago.
The main theme of story is accomplishment. The main part of the story describes fight between lonely fisherman Santiago and a marlin. This fights is Santiego's important test of his skills. Hemingway describes the fights as a symbol of man's strength and pride. Hemingway wants to tell us that the man always has to be prepared to fight. The honor of the man should order to fight to the end and not give up, even thought the mind telling him that struggle is absurd. Giving up on the fights would be a defeat. The real meaning of the wining is shown in the quote from book "You did kill the fish only to keep alive and to sell for food,he thought. You killed him for pride and because you are a fisherman. You loved him, it is not a sin to kill him. Or is it more?" This quote shows that Santiago killed the marlin not for food or any oher material goods; he did it to prove for himself that he is still able to do so. His bad luck ended with his success over the dead marlin. The second main theme of this book is Santiego's friendship with a young boy named Manolin. Boy proves his true attachment with his actions not words. Boy doesn't leave him even then when his parents told him to do this, because of Santiego's bad luck in fishing. Boy trusts Santiago and treats him as his leader. Hemingway wants us to see how important in one's life is friendship.
The story relates to people's every day life. It does not necessary mean that everyone have to fight with strong marlin. It's just a metaphor for people's problem's. We just like Santiago, have to accept our rivals strength and power. And just like the patagonist of The Old Man and the Sea, we can not give up; we have to fight to the end of our strength.
I really enjoy this book. Santiago impressed me with his strength. He never even thought of withdrawing from the fight. The story had huge impact on my life . I've learned that I cannot give up on anything. I have also learned that people shouldn't struggle for any material reasons, but for one's personal feelings and to prove oneself that he or she still is able to defeat he or she rival. I would definitely recommend this book to read for everyone.

Love make a house a home.

People say that only love makes a house a home. I think that much more of us have just house. Nowadays, when everyone is busy, it is very difficult to find some time for the family.
A coupe of years ago it was much different - people were more interested in the problems of the members of their families, there were spending more time with them and made a good atmosphere in their houses. We can admit that then it wasn't only a house but unfortunately it is not as often as some years ago. I think that it is because of our different and more intensive lifestyle.
In my view it is very important to have a home where you can always come back, your mum or kids wait for you and you can find person you needed and dreamed for. Even if we think about our career we have to remember the fact we are talking about, because even if now we have a home and we don't cure it well, our love in it can be lost. Then we will be very lonely, unloved and unhappy.

Wonderful time

The first cry is the proof we begin to live. We enter the world. In this period of our life we have not any problems, we are free, we play and play on and on. We do not have to think about our future. Then, we starts walk, talk and write. We begin to cooperate with others. Some people pretend it is the most beautiful period of our life. I think it is true vision of the world and of the reality is completely different in the eyes of a child. Nearly every child does not realize of such nations as evil, unhappiness and so on. Apart from extreme cases the life of a child is really fascinating. Everyone of us is a sweet baby from our parents. Our parents insure us against all the dangers of the world. We are their pride and joy. That is why this is probably the most wonderful time of our existence.

All Saints Day

When in US people make ready costumes for Halloween night, meanwhile, in Poland people make preparation for All Saints Day which takes place on the first of November.
A few days before this holiday, people start preparations. First, they clean the graves of their relatives, next they buy candle sticks and the most popular flowers for this occasion -chrysanthemums to decorate the places where dead person were burred. On that holiday, many people gator near different cemeteries and later they go with family members to stand by the graves of relative dead person. They light candles and pray. In the midday, a priest starts a mess to celebrate the souls of dead. Then people think about relatives. In this moment everyone is sad. In the evening, families have a meeting to talk about beloved relatives and to remember old times, when dead person lived.
I think that date of the first November is very sad day, because we can't understand why they died. On the other hand, this day is happy because we remind good time spend with dead relatives and friends and we realize that they are still alive in our hearts.

KRAKOW - beautiful city in Poland.

In my country are a lot of wonderful cities, but my favorite is Krakow, lies in the Southern part of Poland on the victual river. It is a very beautiful city, because there are many amazing views and great monuments which make big impression on me. City life focused around the Market Square, the second largest in Europe after St. Mark's Square in Venice. Tradition interlace with modern times nearly everywhere you go, and each stone has its own story. There are a multitude of architectural monuments estimates at 6 thousands buildings and other types of forms of construction. This is supplemented by approximately 2,5 million artifacts collected and displayed in museums, churches, and archives. Thanks to the extraordinary accumulation of cultural wealth, the city was registered as one of the 12 cities on the UNESCO World Heritage List. It is immiscible to describe or even list all the tourist attractions in Krakow. However, I'm sure that each tourist will discover his own magical Krakow. While some will follow the foodsteps of Nicholas Copernicus, others will be interested in cites linked with John Paul II. Some will be fascinated by the world wide unique underground corridors of the willies salt minim and some others will wander around the alleys of the Jewish Kazimierz district. Benefiting from its geographical location, Krakow aims at becoming the meeting place of many cultures and nations, successfully claims its position as a Central European metropolis, a city of culture, art and science. Several Universities are located in Krakow. Moreover, there are a lot of night clubs, pubs and clubs where are fabulous parties every night. I hope that everyone who visit this city will have a wonderful time there, and take a great memories.

FRIENDSHIP

Everyone would like to have a bosom friend; someone trusted, loyal, sincere and faithful. Many songs, poems and proverbs about friendship are common and can be found in all languages. It is so because friendship has a greate value in our life. " A FRIEND IN NEED IS A FRIEND INDEED" -according to this old saying a good friend should always help us in defficulities, cheer us up and raise our spirits when we are down, troubled or when nothing is going right. That is what friends are for...
Friendship must be cherished to become stronger and stronger, it must be "planted like a seed". We should never let our friends down when they count on us or oterwisewe we may destroy our close relationship with them. Everone agree with me that it is more and more difficult to make a friendship nowadays, everyone is very busy ,because of work, school, family, boyfriend, girlfriend etc. However, if you feel lonely, you can always look around and try to strike up a friendship with someone who also longs for it.. Just try and don't be shy!
